Contract on construction of first wind-generator signed in Kanjiža

Business-technical contract on cooperation in construction of the first wind-generator has been signed in Kanjiža by the Mayor of Kanjiža, Karolj Kermenci, and the representatives of Hungarian company Vojvođanska energetika, in the presence of provincial Secretary of Energy, Dragan Surdučki, and general consule of Hungary to Subotica, Ferenc Nađ.

Construction of this generator is one of the first concrete moves within the scope of realization of the program for use of renewable energy sources for year 2008.

In the first phase of realization of the project at the fields around Kanjiža, the pole for measuring of the wind strength will be installed, while the second phase, in few months, anticipates installaton of the first wind-generator.

- We hope that the measurements that will be carried out in the following period will prove that the territory of north Banat, rich with this unexploited resource, is potentially attractive area for new arrangements in this field - Kermenci explained.

According to the analyses represented on this occasion, the wind generators could completely replace energy sources currently used by the city, and possible surplus of produced energy would be sent to the power supply network of EPS. A. J.
