Serbia as "in" destination - partnership of thirty tourist organizations for promotion of potentials of our country

Thirty tourist organizations have signed the protocol on forming the partner network of providers of tourist services, tourist organizations and institutions that deal with promotion and development of tourism within the scope of project "VisitSerbia.org - Discover Undiscovered".

The tourist organizations from the following cities joined partner network "Discover Undiscovered": Alibunar, Bač, Bački Petrovac, Bela Crkva, Belgrade, Vrnjačka Banja, Vršac, Golubac, Zaječar, Ivanjica, Inđija, Kanjiža, Kikinda, Knić, Kovačica, Kraljevo, Kruševac, Niš, Odžak, Pančevo, Palić, Požarevac, Pirot, Požega, Raška, Senta, Sombor, Užice, Čačak and Vojvodina.

One of the next steps, as it was announced on the promotion on February 28, 2008, at the Tourism Fair, is forming of the cluster, and Serbian Railways and bus transportation company "Lasta’" have joined the implementation of the project. Forming of the partner network will enable more significant promotion of Serbia on the Internet, as well as creation of the image of Serbia as an "in’" destination, while subproject VISITSERBIA Pass/Card will provide significant discounts to the tourists for a number of destionations.

By purchasing cards (passports), passengers, in addition to discount, participate in the lottery game.

In addition, an open competition for the best reports about Serbia will be organized within the scope of blog "VisitSerbia", and the best reports will be chosen by the visitors on the Internet. All those who have some interesting report or short film about Serbia can publish their works on this blog.


The project anticipates releasing of postcards that will promote the beauty of still undiscovered parts of Serbia, and all interested will be able to order them on the Internet.

In 2007, 1,500 individual guests who had more than 3,000 overnight stays came to Serbia after booking accomodation on the tourist web site "VisitSerbia". The sales in the second half of the year grew by 200% against the first half of the year.

During this year, 3,000 guests and 6,000 overnight stays are expected. Of all bookings in 2007, 70% were realized in Belgrade-based hotels, and the most usual guests were the Dutch, Germans, the British and te French, while the Czechs were chosing the most expensive accomodation.
