Mercedes to stay with Ikarbus – Production of low-floor buses to continue

Mercedes has continued cooperating with Ikarbus and announced shipment of new low-floor bus chassis and engines meeting the Euro 6 standard, stated the managing director of Star Import, the representative of the German giant in Serbia, Rolf-Juergen Seyerle.

– Mercedes believes in Ikarbus and the continuation of the business cooperation on bus production in line with modern trends – Seyerle said for Vecernje Novosti.

He noted that he had had a series of talks with the key people in Mercedes Benz and added that there were no obstacles to new shipments of chassis and engines to Ikarbus.

This practically means, Seyerle explains, that Mercedes is very satisfied with the cooperation so far and that the Zemun factory will be able to produce low-floor buses with Euro 6 engines, in addition to the models it currently produces. The buses will have the 3-pointed star on their hoods.

– The most important thing is that Mercedes will provide Ikarbus with the latest technology – Seyerle said.
