Vossloh Kiepe Austria begins producing in Novi Sad – Agreement on lease of Rimski Sancevi hall signed

The director of PE Poslovni Prostor, Zoran Jovcic, and the deputy manager of Vossloh Kiepe Austria, Michael Fandorfer, signed an agreement on the lease of the hall at Rimski Sancevi in Novi Sad today.

– Intensive negotiations between Vossloh Kiepe and the City of Novi Sad have lasted for three years, which proves that bringing investors and creating new jobs is a long lasting process and means constant work and negotiations which are anything but easy. I am glad that the Austrian company is coming to our city and I’m especially glad that the investment made by the city in the construction of a multipurpose hall with the area of 5,000 m2 at Rimski Sancevi has paid off. This means direct lease income for the City, and, of course, new income tax revenue – said Mayor Vucevic and added that he was happy that the Austrian company had announced that most of its subcontractors would come from Serbia.

Following the signing of the agreement, representative of Vossloh Kiepe Austria Dejan Boskovic thanked Mayor Milos Vucevic, the Novi Sad Local Economic Development Office, PE Poslovni Prostor, the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber and the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia for all the efforts they had made in the previous three years in order for the investment to be implemented.

– This is a long-term investment which encompasses agreements until 2028. We will employ 50 to 100 workers in the 5,000 m2 hall in the first phase, and in the second phase, we will employ the same number of workers, depending on the pace of employees’ education. The process of getting subcontractors involved has lasted for three years now and ten of them come from Serbia – Boskovic said.

The company will exclusively produce heating, ventilation and air conditioning devices for all kinds of railway vehicles. Serbian subcontractors will be providing a large part of the components, such as aluminum casings, copper pipes, capacitors and evaporators, heaters...
