Philip Morris doubles profit in first six months – Net profit of RSD 1.6 billion

Tobacco industry Philip Morris Operations has published the financial reports for the first half of 2016, which show a significant increase in the company's sales and operating profit.

The Nis-based tobacco factory's sales jumped by 36% to RSD 18.9 billion, above all thanks to the constantly increasing export. Sales in foreign markets amounted to RSD 13.3 billion and are higher by 51.3% relative to 2015.

The company's operating profit in the January-June period jumped by 80.2% to RSD 1.9 billion, whereas the net profit reached RSD 1.6 billion, a growth of 95.8%.


For many years in a row, the company has paid the entirety of its profit through dividend, and this year it paid gross RSD 206.3 per share to owners of first class preferred shares quoted at the Belgrade Stock Exchange, Wisebroker reports.
