Financial leasing market grows – Agreements worth EUR 139 million signed in 2016 so far

Since the beginning of 2016, financial leasing agreements in the total amount of EUR 139 million have been signed in Serbia, which is EUR 30 million more than in the corresponding period of 2015, whereas the number of newly signed agreements on financial leasing increased by 28%.

The Association of Leasing Companies in Serbia says that the growth relative to last year has been recorded in all four segments of leasing.

– The value of newly signed agreements on financial leasing is higher by around EUR 30 million than in the corresponding period last year. The biggest growth was recorded by the sector of commercial, freight and other vehicles, from EUR 37 to 58 million, followed by passenger vehicles, from EUR 39 to 44 million, the machinery and equipment sector, from EUR 30 to 32 million, and the real estate sector, with a recorded growth of EUR 1 million – points out Teodora Milenkovic, secretary general of the Association.

Milenkovic adds that the biggest financial leasing clients have been companies in traffic and information sectors (EUR 50 million), wholesale and retail sectors (EUR 23 million), construction (EUR 12 million) and mining, processing industry, agriculture and forestry.

– We can conclude that the financial leasing market grew significantly in the second quarter of 2016, and if the economic activity continues to grow, the trend can be expected to continue throughout 2016 – Milenkovic concludes.
