Agreement on the donation of EUR 155,000 to Svilajnac entrepreneurs signed – Help in procuring equipment destroyed in floods

The director of Help-Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe e.V. Serbia, Aleksandra Brkic, stated on Tuesday, August 16, in Svilajnac, that the German NGO had realized projects in the total amount of EUR 40 million since 1999. The majority of investments are aimed at supporting small and medium enterprises and entrepreneurs.

– We have supported 6,000 entrepreneurs so far – Brkic specified.

She was present at the Municipal Assembly of Svilajnac on the occasion of the signing of an agreement on the donation to entrepreneurs in the municipality in the amount of EUR 155,000 for the procurement of machinery and equipment destroyed in the May 2014 floods. Furthermore, over a thousand flats have been allocated and more than EUR 10 million worth of humanitarian projects realized.

Brkic reminded that the total amount of help of the EU to Serbia with the aim of mitigating the consequences of the floods was EUR 77 million. The aid in the form of equipment meant for Svilajnac entrepreneurs is part of the EU donation realized by Help-Hilfe.
