CCIS: Serbia ready for the opening of chapter 29

According to the assessment by the European Commission, Serbia is ready for the opening of chapter 29, which deals with the Customs Union. This is the main message sent from the conference “Chapter 29 – what we are negotiating about”, held on June 27 at the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia, reports the CCIS website.

Dusanka Kalezic, adviser to the president of CCIS, who is in charge of European integrations, said that the conference was the continuation of CCIS’s activities to the end of informing Serbian economy on the negotiation process and its impact on business activities in Serbia.

She emphasized that entrepreneurs would have the opportunity to learn the contents of all chapters of direct interest to the economy from the heads of the negotiation groups.

Representative of the European Integration Office at the Government of Serbia Aleksandar Simic pointed to a good cooperation between the Office and the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia and announced that the adoption of the National Program for the Adoption of the EU Acquis for the 2016-2018 period was expected in the coming period.
