Increased levels of pesticides and nitrates found in apples and strawberries exported from Serbia to Russia

The Russian agriculture inspection authority Roseljhoznadzor has discovered that 10% of controlled exported fruits and vegetables contains illegal amounts of pesticides and nitrates, and that they come from Serbia and Moldova.

The department of Roseljhoznadzor for Moscow, Moscow and Tula area announced that that was the result of their inspection of 1,068 documents relating to the imported fruits and vegetables.

The biggest illegal amount of pesticides was found in apples delivered from Serbia and Moldova in the amount of 435.7 tons.

The biggest illegal amount of nitrates was found in strawberries from Serbia and Moldova, totaling 83.2 tons.

It was stated that Roseljhoznadzor would enact concrete measures based on the results of the analysis.
