The construction of Brezovica ski center still under question

The confirmation that the assets have been procured is supposed to be handed in by the consortium to the Ministry of Trade and Industry of Kosovo, which has postponed the deadline several times, due to MDP Consulting – Compagnie des Alpes' inability to procure the promised assets for the investment, thereby giving it more time to meet the conditions of the agreement.

Those in the know when it comes to business activities in Kosovo say that the chances that the international consortium will procure over 150 mil EUR for the investment are very slim.

The Pristina press in Albanian informs that the French consortium wishes to avoid the failure by signing an agreement with other strong companies, which would become involved in the project.

According to a source of the Koha ditore newspaper, the French consortium is negotiating with the Turkish company Limak, with which it would start realizing the Brezovica project. Limak has been running the Pristina airport for several years now. It has constructed an entirely new airport building and raised the level of service. The Ministry of Trade and Industry said that they couldn't state what the future of the plan offered by the French consortium would be before Friday, when the record date for the meeting of the conditions of the first phase of the contract expires.

Let us remind that the plans of the French to build a ski center in Brezovica date back to 2014, when the complex was declared the biggest investment project in Kosovo.
