Trading in shares, securities and various commodities for the citizens of developed world countries has been a common activity for a long time and the basis of many businesses. In Serbia, the occupation "trader" is still unknown for broader range of population and their number is still relatively small.

Despite a small number of traders, it can be spoken about the profile of an average Serbian investor who trades through Saxo Bank.

Average trader of Saxo Bank in Serbia is a man between 35- 55 years old. He invests in a range of 50,000 to 100,000 euros, mostly in agreements on funding differences (CFDs) on shares and indices followed by shares and trading in currency pairs. Smaller number of traders trades in futures contracts.

This amount of investments may seem contradictory compared to the statement that an average Serbian trader is certainly not inclined to risk.

While it is almost certain that he is an owner of a college degree and can be said to understand the market, sometimes he needs additional training or advice. However, he is featured as "self-willed" and is difficult to convince him to do something he does not want.

What does an average Serbian investor trade in?

Given that the economy of developed countries represents desired direction of development in Serbia, the result through analysis of instruments that the average Serbian investor traded in 2015 is not surprising. These are, respectively:

- Shares of 30 top German companies,

- Shares of 500 top US companies for S&P index,

- EUR /USD,

- Raw American oil,

- shares of top 100 companies in the NASDAQ index,

- GBP/USD, AUD/USD and EUR /GBP.
