Educational center for rural development to be opened in Zrenjanin


Educational center for rural development, which is created on the basis of the joint project and investments of the Foundation for Local Economic Development and American Agency for International Development (USAID), will be opened today (December 13, 2007)
in Zrenjanin.
According to the announcements, the official opening will take place in the presence of US Ambassador to Belgrade, Cameron Manter, and Mayor of Zrenjanin, Goran Knežević, and they will receive annual awards of the Regional Chamber of Commerce for their contribution to economic development on that occasion.
Educational center is situated in the renovated premises of the Association of Entrepreneurs in Zrenjanin.
Municipality of Zrenjanin invested 110,000 USD in the equipping of that Center, while USAID set aside 46,000 USD from the Program for stimulation of economic development of municipalities.
In the first phase of work, Educational center will organize seminars for people from the neighboring villages who are interested in viticulture, horticulture, traditional handicrafts and ethno-tourism.
