Serbia develops public procurement process - Government and EBRD sign contract on technical cooperation

Representatives of Serbian government and the European Bank for Reconstruction of Development (EBRD) signed on Friday , April 1, 2016 , the project of technical cooperation in improving public procurement practices in Serbia.

Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, Kori Udovicki, said after signing the contract, that implementation of an effective public procurement procedure provides savings in the country.

She outlined that it is important to protect small and medium-sized enterprises as bidders in public procurement, as they bring economic growth and employment in Serbia.

EBRD head in Serbia, Daniel Berg, said that transparency, predictability and reducing bureaucracy are the key for public procurement.

The project on technical cooperation in improving public procurement practices in Serbia, is funded by the Government of Great Britain .
