23rd Kopaonik Business Forum opened - Record number of participants

(an illustration) The 23rd Kopaonik Business Forum, which has attracted a record high of 850 participants, began today and will last until March 10th. Aleksandar Vlahovic, the president of the Association of Economists of Serbia, invited companies at the opening ceremony of that forum to donate to help those endangered by floods in Serbia. The Forum started with the national anthem, in the presence of Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic, who spoke at the first plenary session.
Vlahovic said that foreign investments in 2015 had hit a record high in the previous three years, totaling EUR 1.75 billion. He praised the Government for bold reform measures taken in the previous period, which resulted in a reduced fiscal deficit, better public finance and savings, as well as economic growth.

- In the years of good conjuncture, the goal to have investments account for 21% of gross domestic product is achievable, and they even reached 30% once - said Vlahovic.

He stressed that public companies should be restructured and that a privatization partner should be found for as many companies as possible.

The event at Mount Kopaonik is organized by the Association of Economists and the Association of Corporate Directors in partnership with the MasterCard company and under the patronage of the Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic.

The theme of this year's forum is "Keeping Up and Converging with Leading Trends: How to Fix Main Cracks in the System". During the three days of the event, there will be 20 panel discussions, three plenary sessions and five special presentations.
