The richest 1% weigh as 99% world population



As Oxfam estimates, 62 richest people in the world “weigh” as half the world population, British BBC reported. For comparison, only five years ago, 388 people had wealth equal to half world’s population which means that in wealth population it has been on very rapid increase.
In the report based on data of the Credit Suisse from October, Oxfam is inviting all world leaders to take over measures to cushion big inequalities, is criticizing the lobbyists’ work as well quantity of money which is kept in “tax heavens”, i.e. countries with extremely low tax rates. The organization is also forecasting that the richest 1% will exceed the rest of the world for wealth next year already.
The organization is asking form the governments of the world to take over a number of measures to decrease huge differences in wealth. Among other things, it was suggested that employees get salaries they can really live from and to decrease salaries of managers.
