Belgrade Deputy Mayor Andreja Mladenovic met yesterday in the Old Palace (Stari Dvor) with Katarina Vyerzbinka, an agricultural expert from Poland, to consider the options to improve the cooperation between the two countries, that is, the two capitals, in the field of agriculture.

As Beoinfo reports, Mladenovic pointed out that the preconditions for establishing a good cooperation were there, adding that the wish of the City of Belgrade was to make good contacts with Polish colleagues, especially in those areas where Poland holds a record in the production of certain crop plants. He added that the City of Belgrade was actively working with registered agricultural farms in its territory and implementing programs pertaining to the land owned by the state or the city itself.

The guest from Poland stressed that the interest in cooperation with Serbia was also expressed by the Polish National Institute of Fisheries, primarily in cooperation with the Veterinary Medicine Administration which they expect could share its experience in the use of European funds and pre-accession talks. Also, as she noted, the National Reference Laboratory in Poland has showed interest in working with Serbia, and so have the Institute for Seed Production and livestock breeding institutions in Poland.
