State to provide money for the first filling of gas storage "Banatski Dvor"

- Money for the first filling of underground gas storage in Banatski Dvor will be provided from the Republic budget - Provincial Secretariat for Information announced.

That was confirmed by the Minister of Mining and Energy, Aleksandar Popović, on the occasion of today’s visit to the Executive Council of Vojvodina.

Popović talked with the Deputy Prime Minister of Provincial Government, Tihomir Simić, and Provincial Secretary for Energy and Mineral Material, Dragan Surdučki about current problems in energy sector in the province.

One of the subjects at the meeting was allotment of authorizations to the Province for issuing of energy permits for energy facilities in Vojvodina, for the sake of acceleration and harmonization with other documents that accompany construction process, as well as change of concession acts.

It has been suggested that mineral raw material of strategic interest for future economic development of Serbia should be defined, and question of joint resolving of exploitation of lignite in the defended part of the Kovin basin has also been raised.
