Construction of bridge at the Drina between Ljubovija and Bratunac starts - Works total EUR 12 m


Construction of the bridge at the Drina between Ljubovija and Bratunac has started today and the works total EUR 12 m.
For the bridge construction, Serbia set aside EUR 4,5 m, Bosnia and Herzegovina EUR 7 m for border crossing while access roads are funded by Putevi Republike Srpske with EUR 400.000.
The prime minister of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic and president of the Republic of Srpska, Milorad Dodik and ministries of construction of Serbia and RS, Zorana Mihajlovic and Nedjo Trninic attended the start of works ceremony.
Vucic said that the bridge which has a symbolic value since it connects people and countries will be opened in a year.
Concrete bridge will be 227 m high and 13.90 m long, it will have seven ranges and eight pillars.
The consortium for works is headed by Belgrade-based Ratko Mitrovic, The project implies a mutual border crossing, six lanes for passenger cars, buses and trucks as well as mutual terminal with four traffic lanes for passenger and bus traffic and two for trucks.
Protocol on construction of the bridge at the Drina which the governments of Serbia and RS signed in 2013 implies that Serbia funds construction of access roads on its side.
