Starting Thursday, October 1st, private receivers will have access to all the information on the bank accounts of citizens, and they will be able to block even time deposit accounts.

The Law on Payment Services, which is applicable as of October 1st, stipulates the creation of unified register of bank accounts of both physical and juristic persons.

Thanks to this database, it will be easier for a total of 209 receivers in Serbia to collect the debts of citizens for public utility services because the central bank will be providing them with the information on all bank accounts of Serbian citizens.

- These data won't be made public and will be available to competent courts, the police, the Tax Administration, receivers and the agency authorized to control FX operations - NBS officials pointed out.
