EU approved EUR 222 m for the Danube region



On Friday, August 21, 2015,
the European Commission adopted the Program of transnational Danube cooperation
for 2014-2020 period, totaling EUR 222 m.
Program focuses pm development and innovation and entrepreneurship,
environmental and cultural goods protection, development of connection and
decrease in hazardous gasses emission in the Danube region, it was communicated
at the website of the Commission.
Program objective is to provide support to cross-border cooperation programs in line with the priorities of the EU strategy for the Danube region in nine EU member-countries (Austria,, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Germany, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia) and three non-EU members countries (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Montenegro), the Commission communicates.
The EU Fund for regional development will provide EUR 202 m and the remaining of EUR 19,8 m will come through support instruments for the EU candidate countries.
