Google is becoming a part of new company Alphabet
Google will become a part of new holding company called
Alphabet which will be headed by founders of Google. New company’s website will
be at https://abc.xyz/.
Larry Page, co-founder of Google, published at the blog the news that he and
Sergey Brinn also a co-founder will manage the company.
He said that unusual business steps could have been expected from them.
He will become executive manager at Alphabet, Brinn will be president and Erik Schmitt will be executive president. The
executive manager of Google will be
Sundar Pichai.
All shares of Google will automatically turn into shares of Alphabet, whose symbol will at stock markets will
remain as it has been so far - GOOG and GOOGL. Companies which have been
operating as a part of Google, and which
are not a part of internet business, such as Life science, Calico, X lab, Nest will
no longer be a part of Google, but Alphabet
and they will have their managers. However, YouTube, Android, Google maps and
others will remain a part of Google.
New company structure should enable investors better insight of how much funds
are spent and for which one out of smaller companies.
