The first machines of Italian company for production of underwear "Pompea" have started to arrive in Free business zone Zrenjanin, and it is expected that the production will start soon and that about 120 workers will be hired. Coordinator for economy in Municipality of Zrenjanin, Ivan Dević, said that the technical reception of machines was “the beginning of hiring of unemployed citizens of Zrenjanin”, which was the most important effect of that arrangement.

- In addition to Italian company "Pompea", Dutch company for production of building panel elements "Pecocar" and Italian-English company for production of machine tool parts "Mehanical works" have already employed about 200 workers in temporarily rented halls – said Dević.

He explained that, although the units of those companies in Free business zone had not been built yet, the production was temporarily started in the rented halls of Zrenjanin-based factories "Mideri" and "Metalprogres". So far, total of 26 contracts have been signed with the investors, mainly from abroad, on admission into Free business zone Zrenjanin.

Dević expects that the units will hire mainly unemployed citizens who graduated from secondary vocational school. After recent revision of data of the National Employment Agency, there are about 16,000 unemployed people in Municipality of Zrenjanin.
