Mladjan Dinkic, Minister of Economy and Regional Development


Born in Belgrade in 1964. He graduated from the Faculty of Economics, Belgrade University, in 1988, where he received his MA degree in 1993. From 1990 to 1993 he worked as a trainee at the Faculty, and since 1994 he has been working as a teaching assistant on the course of Theory and Planning of Economic Growth. He is the founder of Group 17 and was its coordinator from 1997 to 2001. He is president of G17 Plus since 2006. He had his professional training abroad and held lectures at foreign universities: USIA Programme (US), Bergakademie Freiberg - Fakultat fur Wirtschafts - wissenschaften (Germany), Limburgs Universitair Centrum, Faculteit Toegepaste Economische Wetenschappen (Belgium), International Centre for Economic Research (ICER) in Italy and Cornell University (USA). From 2000 to 2003, Dinkic was governor of the National Bank of Yugoslavia, later the National Bank of Serbia. From 2004 to 2006, he held the post of Minister of Finance. Married.
