"New mobile operator" ready for commencement of work – additional 250m EUR for investments

The third mobile operator in Serbia, which will be called "Vip", is ready for the commencement of work. Promotional campaign starts on June 8, whereas the signal will be released soon.

Aleksandar Šperl, President of the Administrative Board of company "Vip mobile", announced at the press conference, which was held today (June 6, 2007) in Belgrade, that "Vip" base stations had been installed and ready for reception of the signal. Together with the national roaming of one of the existing operators in Serbia, Vip will have complete coverage in our country.

- It is most important that our offer on Serbian market stimulates competitiveness. As the citizens suggested that the existing services were expensive, we have decided to offer them very favorable prices of talks. Our research shows that 86% of polled users are looking forward to arrival of the new operator – said Šperl.

He said that SIM cards with positive numbers 060, 061, will be fore sale starting from June 11, 2007, in "Vip" stores all around the country and on additional 2,500 selling points.

"Vip" announced offer "Early bird gets 1,000 RSD" intended for the first 50,000 prepaid users. All those who buy SIM packages worth 100 RSD will get additional 1,000 RSD and participate in the prize contest for 1,000 mobile phones "Nokia" and "Samsung".

Austrian company, according to the words of Šperl, is the largest "Greenfield" investor in Serbia in 2007 with 320m EUR. At the same time, said Šperl, "Vip" plans to invest additional 250m EUR.
