City of Belgrade is looking for partner for waste treatment and disposal - Letters of interest to be submitted by February 5, 2015



The City of Belgrade, in cooperation with the International Financial Corporation, released a call for submission of letters of interest, for public private partnership for waste treatment and disposal services.
The local waste management plan of the city of Belgrade 2011-2020, adopted by the City Assembly of Belgrade 2011, comprises development of waste collection and transport, exploitation increase (re-usage) and waste recycling, construction of waste treatment facility (including usage of energy from waste), rehabilitation of the existing landfill and opening of new sanitary landfill in Vinca.
The City of Belgrade decided to develop the complex of facilities for waste treatment and disposal through PPP model. Private partner will be selected through public tender for a long-term agreement for design, construction, funding and handover of the facility for further usage. The services do not comprise waste collection and primary transport.
The facility will be designed so that it can treat all kinds of waste which originate at the territory of Belgrade (utility, industrial, commercial...). The objective is that waste management system is aligned with the laws of Serbia and EU legislation.
Potential private partners have also been called to deliver letters of interest by February 5 latest, by 3 p.m.
