Simpo's 1.400 workers take reimbursemnets

As of the moment when, through debt conversion, the state became majority owner at Simpo, there have been many speculations but it is definite that this former giant is on its way to recovery. The fact that production will start in mid-January proves it, GM at Simpo, Sladjan Disic, said.

Long-lasting problem which led to company illiquidity was a constant surplus headcount, according to data Disic communicated, from 900 to 1200 workers is surplus manpower. The problem will be solved through social program for which 1.384 employees applied for.

Out of this number, 981 is from mother company and 403 from liable companies. After implementation of social program, Simpo will have , 2.554 people, 1.729 of them in mother company- Disic said and added that the Supervisory Board of the company decided that all those who can retire in line with the law, do it as of December 31. Dragomir Tomic, former company president is among them.
