Austrians offered EUR 800.000 for Mitros - Gierlinger Holding wants to start production in July 2015
Austrian
Gierlinger Holding offered EUR 800.000 for the acquisition of Sremska
Mitrovica-based Mitros, but that the Board of trustees will make the final
decision on sale since buyer offered less than 50% of estimated value totaling
RSD 478.600.500.
At the press conference at the City house, Johan Gierlinger confirmed they were
the only bidder and that he wants to, if he becomes the owner of Mitros, start
production as of July already.
Johan Gierlinger announced that in the first stage the company will hire 300 people
and invest more than EUR 8 m in new equipment. As he said, if the offer is not
accepted, there is a spare plan to stay in Sremska Mitrovica.
When a report of "Radi Novi Sad"
asked whether they will keep the old name of the plant, Gierlinger said he
would not mind that Mitros keeps the name which was famous worldwide but that it
is yet to be decided.
The mayor of Sremska Mitrovica, Branislav Nedimovic, says the city did
everything which up was up to self-governance and that it is now important that
the Board of trustees makes decision which is in the best interest for Mitros and trustees. The first meeting of
Johan Gierlinger with cattle breeders who should provide sufficient number of
fatteners for processing in Mitros, is scheduled for Friday (December, 19, 2014).
As he believed, the Board of trustees could state the decision on offer acceptance for Mitros, in 30 days.
