Trade between CEE countries and China totals USD 50 billion


Total trade exchange between China and CEE countries totals USD 50 billion, the assistant minister of trade, Bojana Todorovic, has said tonight, adding that these countries, including Serbia, should unite and represent themselves together in front of the important partner.
- All CEE countries have mainly been generating deficit in trading with China.
Therefore, they need to unite into regional clusters, chains or other forms of
cooperation, especially through infrastructure bonds strengthening – Todorovic said
at the fourth economic and trade forum of China and CEE countries.
According to her, during the process, it is necessary to identify existing and potential trade trouble spots and work on their solving. As a positive example of free trade, she mentioned CEFTA agreement and trade with EU.
- Experience has showed us that liberalization of goods and services is
necessary chain in development of bilateral, regional and trade between blocks.
Our example shows that as well. Thanks to free trade agreements, Serbia is no
longer the market of eight million people but with more than 800.000 million
people – she said.
