New investment fund of China for the countries of the region totaling USD 3 billion


Chinese Prime Minister, Li Keqiang, said on Tuesday, December 16, 2014, at the opening of the Economic forum within the Summit of China and 16 countries of mid and eastern Europe, that his country will set up a new investment fund of three billion dollars which the countries will be able to use.
- The funds from the fund will be used in new ways, through PPP or leasing
loans - Keqiang said.
The Prime Minister of China expressed hope that his country will be able open
plants in this part of Europe which will produce equipment, material and
facilities for development of infrastructure in the region which will open new vacancies.
He announced China will, during the summit in Belgrade, suggest setup of coordination of finance with the countries of the region and that the business council of China and 16 European countries will be set up.
According to him, the remaining part of the Chinese loan totals USD 1,7 billion which the countries of CEE can use and more funds will be provided as well.
Keqiang added that China will boost the amount in
the fund for cooperation with the countries of the region, reminding that
Montenegro doubled the export to his state while other countries such as the
Czech Republic and Romania had export increase of 20-30%.
He announced that in June 2015 China will host the fair of investment and trade
where 16 CEE countries will participate in.
