Loss of Srpska banka exceeds billion dinars

Loss of Srpska banka at the end of Q2 this year totaled RSD a billion and 178 m, the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) announced.

Nine banks in Serbia registered losses at the end of June totaling RSD 2,9 billion which is RSD 1,4 billion more than at the end of last year.

Five banks with the biggest loss are, apart from Srpska banka, NLB bank (698 m), Piraeus bank (346 m), Marfin bank (264 m) i Telenor bank (176 m).

At the end of the second quarter, 20 banks operated with profit totaling RSD 17,9 billion.

Banca Intesa (3,8 billion), Raiffeisen bank (3,5 billion), UniCredit bank (3,2 billion), Komercijalna banka (2,4 billion) i ProCredit banka (1,1 billion) generated the biggest profit.

Net interest rates profits of banks have been on the increase and are higher by RSD 1,6 billon than at the end of Q2 2013 while net profits generated through compensations are lower than RSD 0,1 billion.

In Q2 2014, problematic loans totaling RSD 424,3 billion increased which is 5,2 % more than at the end of Q1.

In total loans to economy and public companies, the share of problematic loans was 27,4 percent while the portion of these loans to citizens reached 10,2 percent.

At the end of Q2 2014, as NBS announced, in Serbia, 29 banks with total working capital totaled RSD 2.853 billion and the total capital was RSD,611 billion.
