European Agency for Reconstruction invests 6m EUR in construction of factory for treatment of drinking water in Inđija

The representatives of Municipality of Inđija and European Agency for Reconstruction (EAR) signed about 6m EUR worth of Contract on construction of factory for treatment of drinking water on April 20, 2007. The contractor will be Italian "Led Group", with which the contract was also signed.

Total of 2.4m EUR will be invested in the construction of the water factory, while the project also implied construction of water distribution system in villages of Ljukovo and Jarkovci, in which 950,000 EUR will be invested.
There will also be construction of transfer pipeline Inđija-Stari Slankamen, the value of which is 1.8m EUR, as well as construction of seven new wells worth 800,000 EUR.

The aim of the project is the provision of additional water supply sources, as well as improvement of services of drinking water supply to all citizens of Municipality of Inđija. This was announced by the Program for Support to the Agency for Development of Infrastructure of Local Self-government (MIASP), which backed the investment in Inđija.

MIASP, which is financed by European Union, is focused on backing the projects in field of water supply, wastewaters and solid waste. Since 2005, it has implemented more than 10 projects worth over 40m EUR all around Serbia..
