Prokuplje sees the opening of the biggest winery in the Balkans


On November 8, at Gojinovac, a village at Prokuplje, the biggest privat winery in the Balkans, Toplički vinogradi, was opened on 8.000 m2, with 80 ha of grape win, u where EUR 6 m was poured.
As Brand Manager of Toplicki vinogradi, Maja Cirkovic, said for Tanjug, the winery is the ownership of Milomir Kovacevic, who has been living in Spain for 25 years and she mentioned that the winery occupies 80 ha and another 80 ha of grape wine is planned to be planted next year.
It is the most modern in the Balkans and is placed in a special facility with five levels where wine, after processing, is placed in wooden barrels made of Serbian and French oak tree, Cirkovic explained and announced that next year the winery is planning to plant new plantations in Loznica region.
Cirkovic specifically outlined that Toplicki vinogradi produce Epigenija wine named by famous Serbian botanist, Jovan Cvijic, in 19th century, for unique phenomenon that the Toplica river run s upstream at this place which makes it is unique in Europe.
Toplicki vinogradi added Epigenija name to their wines Roze Prokupac and Chardonnay.
The owner provided 40 buses to take guests and journalists from all bigger cities in Serbia to the ceremony.
