Agreement on Designing Second Subway Line Signed – Completion of Works Expected in 2030

The City of Belgrade, the PUE Beogradski metro i voz and the French company Egis Rail have signed the agreement on the designing of the second line of the Belgrade Subway, Goran Vesic, the deputy mayor of Belgrade, said on TV Studio B.

He pointed out that the French company Egis, according to this agreement, would prepare the technical documentation, that is, the Feasibility Study and the Preliminary Project with the Environmental Impact Study for the second subway line from the Bezanija station to the Mirijevo station.

– A joint depot for lines 2 and 3 is planned in Bezanijska Kosa. The designing of the depot is an integral part of this agreement. The completion deadline period is 25 months, so that the construction of the second line would begin in 2023 and be completed by 2030. The beginning of the construction of the first Belgrade subway line is planned for November 2021, and the completion for 2028. The total length of the second line is 21 km and it encompasses a total of 23 subway stations – said Goran Vesic, as reported by the Belgrade city portal.
