The European Union will award grants for creative and innovative ideas in the field of tourism and cultural heritage. The total financial support will amount to slightly over EUR 200,000, which will be used to award 12 projects in six towns and municipalities in Serbia.

The purpose of these projects is to enrich the tourism offer in an innovative and sustainable way and thereby contribute to the economic strengthening of local communities.

The projects will be supported through the “EU for Cultural Heritage and Tourism” program, which is being carried out within the German Organization for International Cooperation GIZ, and which aims to develop tourism and promote the cultural-historical heritage.

Cultural institutions, public enterprises, associations and tourism organizations are the creators and carriers of these innovative projects which will be realized in Topola, Negotin, Donji Milanovac, Kladovo, Zajecar and Golubac.

By supporting creative, sustainable, digital and interactive ideas, the “EU for Cultural Heritage and Tourism” strives to raise the competitiveness of the partners of a local level and help them create new tourism products, according to the website eu-za-turizam.rs
